A one off deep clean in Catford is built from three numbers and nothing else: £26 per cleaner per hour, one £30 charge covering the machines and the detergents, and a floor of two people for three hours. That puts the smallest booking at £186 and the largest at £498. It is a different service from the weekly housework and it is charged on a different rate, because you decide when it is finished rather than an inventory clerk.
| Team and hours on site | Total, kit included |
|---|---|
| 2 cleaners, 3 hours | £186 |
| 2 cleaners, 4 hours | £238 |
| 2 cleaners, 5 hours | £290 |
| 3 cleaners, 3 hours | £264 |
| 3 cleaners, 4 hours | £342 |
| 3 cleaners, 6 hours | £498 |
Use your own vacuum and products and the £30 comes off. Hardly anybody does. Where the team finishes early you pay for the hours worked rather than the hours booked. A pair over six hours and a team of three over four both come to £342, so the choice between them is about how long you want people in the house, not about the bill.
What two cleaners get through in three hours
A two bedroom flat, done properly: cupboards emptied and cleaned inside, the gap behind the cooker and the fridge once they are pulled forward, the extractor filter, then the bathroom taken back through its scale from the shower glass right down to the foot of the loo. After that, skirtings and frames washed rather than dusted, switch plates, radiator fins, the tops of doors and cupboards nobody has looked at since last year, and the floors at the finish. A four bedroom Corbett terrace with two bathrooms is a six hour booking or a team of three, and we quote it that way on the phone.
The long hall changes how the team is deployed
Two cleaners working the ground floor of a narrow terrace at the same time spend the morning stepping round each other. The hall is the only route between the front room and the kitchen, and it is the route for the kit as well, so one of the pair usually starts upstairs and works down while the other takes the kitchen. Floor protection goes down the hall before anything else and the hall floor itself is the last thing touched. On the tighter two-up two-downs off the estate, on plots only fourteen to sixteen feet across, two cleaners with a longer slot beat three, and we book it that way.
Dust from the town centre works
Plenty of building is already under way around the shopping centre, and a great deal more is queued behind it. Permission is in place to straighten the A205 through the middle of Catford and do away with the Plassy Island one-way system, a highway job expected to occupy roughly two years from 2026. Fine dust travels. Flats along the main roads pick it up on sills and inside the window frames and it settles again within days of an ordinary clean, so on those addresses we start at the ceiling line and the frames instead of finishing with them, then work down and come back to the floors. After work in your own flat the same order applies, and a second visit a week later is usually worth more than an extra hour on the first one, because construction dust keeps dropping out of the air for days.
Deck access above the Catford Centre
The flats over the shopping centre have no direct vehicle drop-off, so kit goes up in the service lift or along the walkway by hand. That adds about half an hour at each end. Tell us the block and the floor when you ring and the lift is arranged.
Surface mould in the low roads
Downstairs rooms in the low roads near the Ravensbourne and Ladywell Fields carry moisture right through the winter, and it shows as black spotting along the skirting and in the corners where a window reveal meets the wall. Surface mould we wash off, leaving the product its full dwell time rather than wiping it straight away.
What is priced separately
Carpets, because extraction means different kit and a different amount of time. A bedroom is £36 and a through lounge £61 on the carpet list. Soft furnishings go by the piece, £13 for a dining chair up to £57 for a two seater. A single oven is £77.
Small jobs that are not team jobs
Not everything needs two people. One bathroom taken right back through its scale, or a kitchen brought round after a bad month, is one cleaner for a couple of hours and it meets the £67 one off minimum rather than the team ladder above. We get a fair few of those in the flats over the shops and in the newer blocks near the station, where there is not enough property to justify sending a pair. Describe it on the phone and you will be told which of the two you actually want, even when it is the smaller invoice.
Who books one
Before family come to stay. After a side return or a loft conversion, which half the Corbett Estate seems to be having done. Landlords ring when a house has stood empty for months and wants to look presentable before the new tenancy starts. Executors clearing a house that has held one family for forty years. And a steady trickle who have simply been ill and got behind, which is nothing to apologise for. Plenty book one and then hold the house there with a weekly or fortnightly visit, which beats paying for a reset twice a year. We take the work right across the round, out to Downham in BR1 and up the hill to Forest Hill. Every figure is on the prices page. Ring 020 3129 2846 between 8am and 7pm, seven days a week.
Questions we get asked
How much is a deep clean in Catford?
£186 is the floor: a pair on site for three hours at £26 a cleaner hour, with £30 of kit on top. Stretch the pair to four or five hours and it is £238 or £290. A team of three runs £264, £342 and £498 across three, four and six hours, the last being the biggest job we take.
What is the difference between a deep clean and the regular clean?
The rate and the scope. Regular housework is £23 per cleaner per hour weekly and keeps a house ticking over. A deep clean is £26 per cleaner per hour with a team minimum of two, and it goes inside cupboards, behind appliances and into the grout.
How many hours does my house need?
Three hours with two cleaners does a two bedroom flat properly. A four bedroom terrace with two bathrooms wants six hours or a third pair of hands. We work it out from the room count on the call.
Can you come in after builders?
Yes, once the rubble has gone and the trades have finished. We do the fine dust, the sills, the frames and the tops of the doors, working from the ceiling line down. A second visit a week later usually beats an extra hour on the first, because construction dust keeps falling for days.
Can you clean mould off a ground floor wall?
Surface mould, yes. It gets a proper product with its full dwell time rather than a quick wipe, along the skirtings and into the window reveals, which is where it gathers in the low roads near the river.
Does it include the carpets and the oven?
No. Carpets are £36 a bedroom and £41 a flight on their own list, and the oven is £77 for a single. Most people add one or the other on the same day, and the carpets always go last.
